 Written on November 28, 2007 Summary: Great! Very Insightful and Helpful! Great book and good ideas for anyone!! I got this book for my moms boyfriend to help with his romance uncapablities for christmas!! ive been reading a few pages and i know they will both enjoy it!!!!  Written on November 1, 2007 Summary: Just one problem...GODEK GOT DIVORCED FROM HIS SO-CALLED "TRUE LOVE" In the mid-90s, I read the first edition of 1001 Ways to Be Romantic, as well as some of Godek's other works, including 1001 More Ways to Be Romantic, Romance 101, etc. He's a talented, easy-to-follow writer and he clearly loves his subject. Indeed, his muse for those books was Tracey, his wife. They had a son named Thomas Valentine Godek in the late 90s. Godek basically rewrote the same book several times over -- ie Romance 101 was republished as a book called Love: The Course They Forgot to Teach You In School--and over and over and over all you read was how much he was in love with Tracey and that "romance is the key ingredient to keeping a marriage together." So why is it when I flipped through the new version of 1001 Ways To Be Romantic (my GOD, how many times is he going to reprint this? Honestly!?)...there's NARY a mention of Tracey and in fact, Godek is now married to a woman named Karyn. Here's the deal: Godek preaches and preaches with the utmost sincerity about how romance is the key to making a relationship work...and mind you, he was married to Tracey while writing nearly all of his key works. So the fact that he's now divorced from his so-called "soulmate" (a word he overused waaaay too much) strikes me as just too ironic. If Mr Romance can't make a marriage work, what chance do I have? Dang. Written on September 3, 2007 Summary: Packed full of great ideas!!! If you are at a loss of ideas to honor your woman, try this great book! It has so many great ideas from small things to big things to do for her! She will love you for it (don't tell her where the ideas came from though)!!! It is the thought that counts..... Written on May 22, 2007 Summary: Young Again I am 77 years old, and thought I was out of the dating and romantic game. To my surprise, someone came calling. I had not dated in 50 some years, so sought the advice from a book---what do I do now??? "101 Romantic Ways" gave me a great start, and I have used their very nice, and fun suggestions. My friend and I are having the time of our lives. Read this book--make your special someone know what romance is. Written on May 11, 2006 Summary: Are you looking for a list? I'm giving this book four stars because it does do as it says; there are 1001 ways to be romantic. This may be just what you are looking for, a list. If you enjoy getting your information this way, this is the book for you. The reason I didn't give it five stars; some of the items are replayed over with minor changes. Some of it just seems to be filler to reach the 1001 goal. If you are not looking for a big list, this book is probably not for you. Although, if you are a collector of romantic idea books, it's a must have for your collection. |
