 Written on April 7, 2006 Summary: Used up until 8 months! My daughter loved to sleep on her side. I kept her bottom half swaddled and used the sleep positioner up until she was 8 months. She was sleeping so well, I didn't want to mess it up!! Anyway, great product. Written on March 29, 2006 Summary: Won't leave home without it! I have been using this positioner since day one. At first, our baby wouldn't sleep on her back so this helped her sleep on her side (NOT the intended use for this and against the doctor's recommendation, I know!). Within a few weeks though, she was on her back and this was great. When swaddled, it kept her bundled up. Once she grew out of the swaddle, this was key because we have a video monitor and without this she would squirm out of the camera's view. Also, when we took her to my in-laws and forgot it, I felt SO nervous and uncomfortable because she kept turning in the crib towards the bumper. It made me so nervous I almost drove back home to get it! A must have. Written on March 15, 2006 Summary: We love this! This is one of the best things we recieved as a baby gift! Our baby likes to roll onto his side already, and it's not going to be too long before he makes it onto his tummy. This thing keeps him positioned on his back, and the baby seems to find it comfortable... in fact, I think it makes him feel more secure having it around him. It is easy to wash when he pees on it, too! Written on February 28, 2006 Summary: Perfect for the crib I used this sleep positioner from the first day home from the hospital. We wrapped the baby in a thin receiving blanket and placed her snuggly in this positioner. It helped her feel more secure. Around 4 months she didn't need it anymore, but we'll definitely keep it for the next little one!  Written on February 22, 2006 Summary: Why buy this??? Dear parents. I received this as a gift for my second child, and returned it to Babies R Us, as I chose not to use it. I'm so glad, knowing what dangerous long term affects it could have on your child. If you want a safe, reliable, inexpensive solution to safely "position" your baby while sleeping, do what the hospitals do. Use some of the many free hospital receiving blankets, or ones you already have, fold into a rectangle and roll like a jelly roll. After laying your baby down on its side or back, gently tuck the rolled blanket (one in the front and one in the back if on its side or right and left sides if on its back) into the front and back of your baby or right and left sides, seam side down. This works great with newborns. You may have to adjust the way you fold the blanket in length as no two babies are the same size. As your baby gets older and more acitve, you may have to use a larger blanket. Best of all, you throw them in the washing machine and dryer for easy cleaning. I am not a professional, and I only offer this as a suggestion, which worked well with both of my children who held their heads up the day they were born. I was more concerned about them choking on spit-up, so I kept them on their sides, instead of their backs. And check out the latest finding on SIDS and how it has been linked to heredity. As parents, you have to do what's best for you and your baby. It is an instinct that you will know. Sometimes the latest isn't always the greatest. If rolled blankets worked for our Great-Grandparents and hospitals worldwide...it can work in the land of convenience as well. Good luck to you all and enjoy your sweet babies!! |
