 Written on April 3, 2007 Summary: Building security for your child My daughter (adopted at birth) had attachment issues, this helped us over come them and she is now a secure and happy six year old. If you wonder if your child has attachment problems, this book is for you. It has hands on steps to take to build a sense of safety and security in your child based on a healthy attachment to you. No matter what their age, it's never too late to read this book. Written on March 21, 2007 Summary: A must read for any parent adopting a child As the parent of the most wonderful Asian child, I found this book to be an excellent resource in planning for the arrival of our child. We refer to this book often for information and have loaned it to several friends. Yes it has all of the worse case scenarios, but it also says this in the book. These are just some of the things you might encounter while you and your new child attach to each other. You must be prepared for you adoption. Don't take it lightly, this book help my wife and I talk through some of the "What Ifs" and gave us some good ideas. Our Son is now a fully integrated part of our family...and this book helped us prepare. |
