Written on May 19, 2008 Summary: Lots of fun for my 4 year old! I was a bit confused to see all of the negativity over this as my 4 year old got it for her birthday yesterday and LOVES it :) She made us watch it twice in a row, which is a rare occurance for anything so I know she loves this. She really doesn't care too much about the wand as it is somewhat heavy to hold and dance with, although she loves playing with it apart from the dance mat and video. The dances are fun and actually really aerobic. I know this because I did the video one time through with her and got a pretty good workout! I am glad she got this as I probably would not have bought it for her myself and I am sure that on rainy days and times when we have to be inside this will bring her much joy and fun! I know her playgroup friends will love it also!  Written on May 17, 2008 Summary: Great buy!!! My daughter received this video as a gift for her 4th birthday, and she absolutely loves it!! She really enjoys following the energetic Bella and her friends, and learning how to dance like a princess. It's a great half hour of excercise for her!! As for the reviewer that called the young "Bella" stocky? What are you teaching your children about healthy body image (this is coming from a size 6). She is a beautiful, healthy young girl, and gives a lot of entertainment to all the little "Princesses" out there. Thank you Disney for a wonderful video!!! Written on February 17, 2008 Summary: Perfect for princess in training Our 2 1/2 year old loves this. It had to be immediatley opened. She loves the mat, DVD and wand. It's not however what I thought it was going to be. It does not focus much on teaching dance or steps using the mat like I had thought. The dancing on the DVD is done by a young girl who is accompanied by children from time to time, not any disney princess. Also, the dress the little girl is wearing that's pictured on the box does not come with the set. Our little girl loves it and that's all that matters, but I wanted others to know what to expect. Written on January 5, 2008 Summary: Great for Little Princesses I just had to write my own review after reading the other posts. My oldest daughter received this yesterday for her 4th birthday and she and her 2 year old sister just love it. I have to admit, when I first watched it, I thought that it seemed a bit advanced for my children since the dance instructions seem to go a bit fast, but my children didn't complain and I didn't buy it for myself, I bought it for them, so if they like it, that's all that matters to me. If your daughter thinks that this DVD is going to be animated, then this probably isn't for them, becuase there are just some snippets here and there, otherwise its mostly the dance instructor and little girls doing dance moves. But again, my girls didn't complain about this, and that's all that matters to me. And for the person who called the dance instructor "stocky", what are you teaching your children about body image? No wonder even young girls (and women) have such issues with their bodies! I think that she looks like a normal young lady. Written on December 29, 2007 Summary: It is what it is! I got this for my 4.5 year old girl for Christmas..she loves it. I think you shouldn't have extremely high expectations for $25 from Walmart. It does teach you the steps and really after they watch it 5-6 times (and they will) they pick up on it. If you go to Disney World or Land, the princesses are real people not cartoons - so I think it is a good thing to see other 'princess' types dancing. The product is what it is, and we really enjoy watching her dance around. It's all about spinning at this age anyway - the toy doesn't claim to turn your child into a dancer. |
