 Written on September 27, 2007 Summary: exellent for legal research this book has proven to be very useful at college, i use it mostly to do my legal research. Written on September 16, 2007 Summary: Penn State Dickinson 1L This dictionary/edition is very helpful for giving accurate and concise definitions. I don't take it to class, but I have it next to meet at all times when doing homework and usually write the definitions next to words that I didn't know. Every law student should have a dictionary, pocket size or otherwise, and this one was recommended to me so I recommend it to you. Written on May 20, 2007 Summary: Great Gift! My daughter just graduated from college with a paralegal degree and wanted the Black's Law Dictionary. I got it as a gift for her and she was thrilled with the quality of this book. I was also impressed with what I got for the price! Written on April 15, 2007 Summary: Better than using the online version In my opinion blacks online (through west) is too cumbersome to use. too many redirects and long paragraphs. But this book is not essential either. You'll know the phrases you need after your first month or so, and all the legal libraries have a bunch of these all over the place. Bringing it to class is almost impossible because it's so big. But it is nice to have also. I would recommend this over the 8th edition because it's so much cheaper. I don't see much difference between the two. This will sit in my office throughout my career. However it's use will continue to be limited more and more. Written on February 21, 2007 Summary: Comprehensive and heavy! If you're in a law class or pre-law, this is a great book. However, if your aspirations aren't in law, just go and reference it at your local library. VERY heavy book |
