Written on December 24, 2007 Summary: A touching tale of finding a mommy This has been a great book for helping broach the adoption topic with our 2.5 year old son. It's a very sweet story of a little bird looking for a mommy and asking lots of animals who don't quite fit. When he finds his mommy, there is such a sense of happiness and contentment that pervades the pages, it's really wonderful. Written on December 6, 2007 Summary: Excellent book for adopted kids My daughter and I love reading this book together. She laughs at the pictures and then we compare how we are alike, and how we are different. Very positive and encouraging. I recommend this book for anyone with adopted children who don't look exactly like their parents! Written on September 8, 2007 Summary: Great Book!!! I got this book for my daughter who was adopted. She is almost 8 years old and still loves it. It's a simple read but makes the point you don't have to look like your family to be a family. Wish parents would read this to thier non-adopted children. Written on September 2, 2007 Summary: A much loved classic This book is a great way to gently introduce the concept of adoption. The book reinforces that what matters is not whether family members look alike, but how they treat and love each other. The only thing I am not crazy about is that Choco seems to start out with no caregiver at all. The illustrations are beautiful, and both my kids enjoyed this book.
