Stories of hope and recovery from a nation of parents of autistic children, by the high-profile, bestselling author of Louder Than Words. When Jenny McCarthy published Louder Than Words, the story of her successful efforts to save her son, Evan, from autism, the response was tremendous. It hit #3 on the New York Times bestseller list; and Jenny and Evan were featured on the covers of several magazines, including People. But what she hadn’t anticipated was the overwhelming response from other parents of autistic children, who sought her out to share their stories. No two autistic children heal in exactly the same way. And in her new book, Jenny expands her message to share recovery stories from parents across the country. Mother Warriors, shows how each parent fought to find her own child’s perfect “remedy of interventions” and teaches parents how to navigate safely through the many autism therapies. Along the way, Jenny shares her own journey as an autism advocate and mother as well as the progress of her son, Evan. Emotional and genuinely practical, Mother Warriors will inspire a generation of parents with hope. |

Summary: mother warriors I never got the book and Amazon charged me so the charge is in dispute with my credit card. Summary: sad and joyous stories Read the book last weekend. Jenny is not a particularly good writer, but her stories about going on TV to talk about autism and vaccines were absolutely worth reading. The parents' stories in the rest of the book are shocking. The descent after vaccines was obvious, but the doctors were oblivious. The children were seriously, physically, ill, but the regular doctors were saying stuff like: "autistic children just have those problems." And the final story in the book is heartbreaking. Here is a child who has a major reaction after the 2 month vaccines, is even hospitalized, and the doctors insist that it is safe and necessary to keep on giving the vaccines. Individuals matter. Sickness is sickness, whether it results from a drug or from a disease. The denial of problems with vaccination has got to end. Disclaimers: I do not have a child with autism. I am almost totally unvaccinated, did selective and very much delayed vaccination with my child and my grandchildren (both healthy) are now following the same path. Summary: I didn't realize that Jenny is my Hero !!!! I purchased this on audio book CD, in which I highly recommend!!!! It was very well done on audio. I have never purchased ANY of McCarthy's books before, and all I have to say is 'I didn't realize that she is my hero.' This book is GREAT, EXCELLENT, SUPERB !!!! I Still recommend the audio book CD, ...although, I eventually did purchase the book, simply for written reference. But the audio was superbly done. It is a keeper !!!! I am mom on a mission, if you are,too ....Get it! Summary: A must read for all moms This book was so amazing from start to finish. It was a quick 2 day read for me and I cried over and over but it really gave me inspiration to always fight for what i know my children may need. Your kids dont need to have autism for you to be a mother warrior and I learned that from this book. One person can stand up and make a difference. Summary: Mom of older autistic I really enjoyed this book! Jenny REALLY gets us parents. Reading inpiring stories about what other parents are going through is what pushes us to be better. I am thankful that is what Jenny is doing here. I have a child who is a teenager with autism. Although I had dabbled in biomedical over the years, after reading her previous book "Louder than Words", I got our child a DAN! doctor. My child is making amazing progress and the testing ALONE that we had done would have changed our childs' life years ago had it been done. It is so tragic that medical doctors are not trained to look for deficiencies or overages. The moms in the book are among the thousands that I read about daily on my groups. I was moved to tears reading about the mom who lost her child! It is tragic what is going on in our wonderful country. Our country is supposed to be a leader in the world with medicine! This is just another reason to not keep quiet about the awful side affects of toxic material being injected in our babies. I attribute my childs autism to a mercury filling that cracked before getting pregnant + the RhoGam shot. My child came out with all the signs of autism. I had never met anyone years ago with autism nor did I know the signs. I just kept telling everyone that something was wrong and NOONE would listen to me. MOMS know! I commend Jenny for going forth and bringing this to the light. I will continue to encourage others to read her books. |
