 Written on June 16, 2007 Summary: Disappointing This book was disappointing, it contained no information that isn't available in every other pregnancy book. Worse, I found it to be condescending and biased. The indication throughout was that if you didn't agree with their specific, medicalized, and fear-based opinions, you are a foolish mother who does not care about her children. I prefer books that present well-balanced information and options, with fact based pros and cons.  Written on June 2, 2007 Summary: Keeps me up-to-date! This book is fun to follow along with during pregnancy, and its MUCH better than the (in my opinion) HORRIBLE "what to expect" books that everyone reads and thinks are wonderful... this book tells the truth-- not just the same old "wives tales" in all the other books. I've read all of the major books on pregnancy, and this is, in my opinion, one of the best. If you buy only one book on pregnancy, I think this is an excellent choice. Written on April 2, 2007 Summary: Love Sears Books! This was the first Sears book I got. Now I have 5 others! This is the best book I have ever read for pregnancy. It has a chapter for each month with DETAILED information. There is nothing you won't find in this book! Help, tips, and insight for both mom and baby development. It does lean to the Natural Childbirthing side (anti-drugs), but I really feel that is the best way so the book was a blessing to me. But it certain gives a good look at all opinions. I give this book to every pregnant friend. The Sears Books are the best on the market! Written on March 29, 2007 Summary: The Pregnancy Book by Sears I purchased this book for my daughter-in-law who is expecting her first baby. I coupled this with The Pregnancy Journal by Anne Geddes and The Expectant Father. Both my son and daughter-in-law were pleased with my purchases and are enjoying the books immensely. I know they refer to The Pregnancy Book when questions arise. It's a good over-all book for first-timers. Wish I'd had it when expecting my babies. Written on March 27, 2007 Summary: I liked this I've read many of the books by the Sears authors and they are always helpful, informative, and easy to read. It's like having coffee with a very intelligent friends who tells you the stuff no one else can. That's a good friend to have. Thank you, Martha. Coffee's on me. |
