 Written on December 28, 2008 Summary: Interesting but light on the "heaven"' experience. Not a bad read but hardly as inspiring as many NDE type of books. Believable but too much time spent in "recovery" mode and how the author rehabilitated himself. It's like being disappointed at a carnival after spending your hard earned .50 to get into a show on "weird"" people. May be a decent expenditure if this is your first attempt into this type of writing.  Written on December 27, 2008 Summary: Title should read "7 pages about Heaven" This book really isn't about heaven....it is about one man's struggle after a car wreck and his recovery. There were just over 7 pages about it, but 190+ about him, his car wreck, hospitals and friends. If you are looking for a book about heaven and the life after, you may be disappointed in this selection.  Written on December 27, 2008 Summary: uplifting this book is truly uplifting...it so sad and wonderful all at the same time!!!!buy it its well worth it  Written on December 23, 2008 Summary: 90 minutes in heaven book I bought this book because someone told me it would be good for me to read since I just lost my husband and so far it has been really good and has helped me out some the 90 minutes devotional helped me the most but would recommed this book too Written on December 23, 2008 Summary: Not all about heaven but definitely worth reading Don Piper's book is inspiring and reveals a real message of the Christian gospel. It offers a powerfully moving story of courage and persevering through physical pain and challenge. However, it is not a full book about heaven. Only two chapters of the book are devoted to Piper's experience in heaven while his body was dead following the car crash. The title is somewhat misleading. But this is an amazing story that you won't want to put down. The story of Piper being almost literally destroyed in a car accident and being dead for 90 mins. before coming to life is unbelievable and amazing. Then the next two weeks are gripping to learn how he stayed alive against all the odds to grow stronger with no brain damage, a miracle considering his injuries. Another miracle in the book is how so many people rallied around Piper to pray for him, care for him and support him through his recovery that lasted two years. Piper tells how he has helped and encouraged other victims undergoing painful recoveries. There are several miracles in this book besides his survival. His 90 minutes in heaven is only the focus of two chapters but it does inform the rest of Piper's experiences since the accident. This book is definitely worth reading for Christians are those who would like a glimpse of what heaven is like and how such an experience has inspired a man who admittedly has been to heaven and returned to earth to go through his own hell and recovered. |
