Summary: Fantastic!!!
This book is a must-have for anyone interested in making your own skirts. It covers all the basic types of skirts; a-line, straight, wrap, circle (squares too), layered, and tiered and there are a few variations of each to help you get ideas. The tips are great and give you everything you need to create a simple (or elaborate!) skirt. The only problem I am having is deciding which skirt to do first!!!

Summary: Exactly The Book That I Was Looking For
I am a newbie and can not seem to get patterns to fit right. Plus buy the time I cut the pattern out and then cut out the fabric, I am about ready to quit. I was looking for a book that taught you how to create clothing just from your measurements. "Made to Fit" But as a newbie, I needed the information to be clear, concise and pretty much explain the supposely obvious. This book did just that. I made two skits (PLEATED SKIRTS!) on the very first day. They fit perfectly! I love them. They look great. Now I just need a shirt, dress and pants book :)

Not designed to be a comprehensive book on the subject of pattern drafting, yet covers fundamentals such as measurements to take, shape alteration through darts, pleats and gathers.

Good first step into life without commercial patterns.
