Written on January 8, 2002 Summary: a suggestion I hope if you are reading this, that it means you have already heard of or read this delightful book. It is lovely and by no means just a children's book. I have learned,though, that there is now a second translation of this story. The first translation was by Katherine Woods, and in my opinion it is superior to the more recent translation by Richard Howard. Woods captures the feel and character of the prince and narrator far better than Howard's, whose translation seems merely an attempt to make money by retranslating a classic. I seriously recommend you read and buy the Woods translation rather than the most recent. Written on January 5, 2002 Summary: Like Time Travel...Only More Fun I have lost count over how many times I've read this book. In addition, I've also collected the English, French, AND German translations. It doesn't matter what language you read...how old you are...etc...The Little Prince is the ultimate children's book. This tale is just wonderful and I really can't think of anything else to say. Written on October 16, 2001 Summary: Lovely for everyone I got the CD on Monday 15th, 2001 and listened to it right that evening. It was like Richard Gere was sitting next to me and telling me the story with all his friends supporting him. All actors were great and made a wonderful story. A gift to everyone. Written on September 17, 2001 Summary: A CLASSIC I love this book. It's a classic. It's about a boy from another planet and a pilot.The Adventures the boy had is amazing and the book has a wonderfull philosophy inside the pilot gets valuable life lessons fromthat amazing kid such as being an adult, notto kill the inside child and what is most valuable are not seen with eyes, with heart.The part that prince said goodbye to wollf is amazing,real touching.After reading that book I look at the stars to see the amazing little prince. I recomend this book to everybody espacially adults and I think adults enjoy this book more. Written on September 6, 2001 Summary: Let's see an adult life from a whole new perspective!!! I read this book to my 4 year old. As I read it on most nights I learn so much about adult behaviour than I had bargained for. Sometimes I embarass myself about adult behaviour. This classic is a must read. I have never read a book for grownups which have pictures next to text. Why don't adults write like Antoine De Saint-Exupery? |
