 Written on August 16, 2007 Summary: Not what I had hoped for... This book just didn't provide the guidelines I need to run an efficient middle school classroom. It was too "touchy-feely" and not very practical for quick solutions in a fluid classroom environment. There is no way I could wait for the student to realize and come to the conclusions about his/her behavior that this book promotes. Maybe the counselors or VP, but I doubt they have the time either to let a student sit there endlessly. Meantime, the rest of the class would be getting out of control. If you are looking for concrete management steps that will help you get the class or individual student behavior under control in a pressing situation (during class as you are teaching), this book is not the answer for you.
