Jace Mongomery was a stranger in Chandler. Tall, proud, and ruggedly handsome, he would make any woman's heart beat faster... Even shy, sweet Nellie Grayson -- Nellie, who thought only of her beautiful younger sister's happiness. With Nellie's tireless aid, Terel Grayson easily became the belle of Chandler, Colorado. Yet Jace, homesick for his closeknit family in Maine, took immediately to Nellie. For the first time, Nellie was the center of attention. It was a heady, delightful feeling...almost as wonderful as the moment when Jace gave her her very first kiss. Nellie was sure her romantic idyll would end -- how long could Jace resist the lovely Terel's charms? But with the help of an enchanting new friend, Nellie would discover that her flirtatious sister might not be the woman to win the gallant Jace Montgomery....

Summary: JACE MONTGOMERY IS MY DREAM GUY !!! I love this one... Jace and Nellie ,a cinderella story,i like it how Jace doesn't look just at appearance he goes deeper, how he pursues this woman that nobody notices,he just saw something about her, that makes his heart flutter... Jace Montgomery is the son of Captain Montgomery and La Reina in MOUNTAIN LAUREL... I love this story,i love it love it love it... Summary: Another Mongemery falls in love Great story as your other readers have all already shared. I didn't like that you made her plump and then you made her skinny. Other than this little bitty thing the book was a very good read. okay I also really wanted the sister to pay for her selfishness, the pig farmer and his kids should have gotten a better deal. Summary: Its a nice book to read ... but ... I did enjoy this book, it was nice to have the lady of a Montgomery was not skin & bones. I only gave this book 3 stars because the ending just did not do it for me, it felt so rushed and just did not have what I needed *** SPOILER ALERT *** I mean *poof* her sister and dad are in love and *poof* Jace and Nellie are together forever and happy. This book is a nice book to read and it is very different with Bernie as a sort of fairy godmother but it wasnt the best book of Mrs deveraux that I've read. Summary: Love at first sight I liked the fact that this is a simple love story. It deviates from the more popular animosity and denial that occurs between the hero and heroine's path to love. Such love and devotion Jace showed. It was a joy reading Nellie's blossoming out. The one thing I didn't like about this book was the rushed, forced ending. Berni's solution at the end was a bit too convenient and not that believable. I felt Nellie should have trusted and believed Jace more. A man can only take so much...the same for a woman. Summary: An unusual Romance I have read almost everything that Jude Deveraux has written, and have enjoyed all of her books emmensly. However, this is the only romance that I have ever read that does not have the herorine a beautious maiden who is legally underage and fighting off the unwanted attentions of every suitor around. The heroine, Nellie, it a wonderful, compassionate and deeply loyal woman. She is given a gurdian angel in the form of a wealty and cold hearted socialite from a more progressive era, Bennie. Bennie dies somewhat prematurely and is sent to wait in a place called the "kitchen", it here that she discovers that she is neither in heaven nor in hell, she is in limbo. Her assignment while waiting is to help a poor soul in another time, all times run parrallel in the kitchen, Nellie. The problem that Bennie runs into is that Nellie represents everything that she hated in life, an overwieght, poor, and seemingly boring person. While Nellies younger sister Terel seems to be exactly like Bennie had been in life, Bennie simply ignores the older sister and leaves her to fend for herself while she indulges in the strange yet fascinating waitng rooms of the kitchen. |
